My core values are authenticity, nature, and acceptance.
Beyond that, I believe (as both a client and a therapist) that people feel safer and more courageous when they know the identities and values of those they are trusting with their mental health and wellbeing, so let's talk about them!
Here are (some) of my identities: white, bisexual, cis-woman.
Feminism, social justice, and intersectionality are important to me. I believe that working towards anti-racism is a never ending journey in which the burden falls on white shoulders to uplift marginalized voices, learn and unlearn societal injustices, and navigate a path forward. I value the innate differences and wisdom each person carries, especially those who don't feel seen or heard in their lives, and I aim to embrace those principles in our sessions.
I value each person's individuality and unique experience, and perhaps most importantly, I believe in the importance of each person for their inherent value as a human being.
